yes I suck

Well it's been a freakin long time since I've posted. . . Don't know why really. I've had lots of different times when I'm thought "oh man, I should blog about this" and then nothing. . . Oh well, I hope ya'll forgive me.

SO, what brought me back into the cyber-world of blog you might ask? Well, right now I'm filling out my tax forms. Yeah, they're due tomorrow. Federal is done, just gotta take care of ole SC now. ANYWAY, the first box of the SC 1040A says "print your first name and initial" and that's fine and to be expected. . . but then in the SECOND box, it quite clearly says:

"Check if Deceased"

Yeah. . . .right after you print your name and itinial, let us know if you're dead. . . we can't figure it out by the fact that you were capable of doing the first thing we asked you to do. We just wanted to make sure you're not dead and filling out your taxes. SOUTH CAROLINA YOU BLOW MY MIND.

Well, I know this is unsatisfactory as an entire blog. and I seriuosly will try to get better. For now, I'd say, life is coming back around. God is rocking my world, I'm changing from one team of leadership to a new one and finishing up a year with one servant team at the same time I'm putting a new on together. Fun but extremely draining process. We're reading porn in my philosophy class and I have a paper due in their friday. RAY AND TJ are coming up to FCA tonight! that will be good. . . tons of relationship tumult looks like it's cooling down to some great times with great people and clarity and tension-release. . . . as opposed to extreme awkwardness.

and I leave you with, I'm going to the lake this weekend. I love you guys.

Singularly fun.

At lunch today, Lynn and myself decided we'd like to do something outrageously fun/free this weekend while all the couples rush off into their romantic silliness. . . any thoughts are welcome and OF COURSE YOU ARE INVITED!

We later decided that one of our goals this week is to suck at something real bad and not even try to improve. . . just keep doing it and keep sucking at it. . . there's a twist on your common motivators.

Oh and by the way, you should refer to her as Restless Girl from now on. . . as if it was her superhero name

Living in the land of the neutered

Well, it's with great sadness that I report Robbie Phillips is hanging up the boxing gloves and leaving the ring of singles. Tomorrow he's bringing his dog Duke to the vet to have him neutered. Last week's speaker Brian Loritts just got a vasectomy. . . which I really think should be reffered to as being vasectomized. Matt and Elaine have moved on to a better place. Alas, we of pure minds and hearts focussed solely on God are a dying breed.

Stay strong my single brothers and sisters.
Stay strong.

Change + Excellence = Justin King

"His acoustic guitar work is quite literally unequalled by anyone who's ever played the instrument"

So coming from a professional guitar critic, that's a pretty high acolade. If you like music, acoustic guitar or anything of the sort, go check out the most amazing acoustic guitarist quite possibly to ever live. Check out especially his videos Knock on Wood, and the Larivee video clip, and just sample some of the stuff in the music tab. He has both his acoustic solo stuff as well as his band stuff (a lot more pop-ish but still with his amazing guitar work and his lead singing).

And he also supports my last post about changing:
"Hey It's ok,
it's just change
and it goes
like it goes
like it goooooeeees."

Changes

So while daydreaming/doodling in Physics of the Weather yesterday which Lynn would be proud to know I stayed for the whole class. . . and paid no attention (oops.) I was called out of my trance but this statement by my professor:

"Why take on the risk of change if you can avoid the change and you can't predict the risk?"

Ok so he was talking about global warming which is a bad example but this seems to be the predominant viewpoint of life and I don't like it. . . even inasmuch as I see it in myself. Who taught us that failing was the worst thing ever? Cause I don't think it is. Being stuck in a world without change has gotta be worse than failing cause you tried to move.

Speaking of changes: Prayers! That's right there's a new blog in town. I think it will be a lot of audio blogs as I think of prayer requests through the day. Feel free to comment with your own prayers or use the blog as a source for stuff for you to pray about. I think it's gonna be fun.

And now I'm off to change!

Lead like yo Savior taught you how

So last night we had a leadership retreat and we went to Greenville, stayed at the Embassy Suites and went to the Melting Pot for cheese and chocolate. It was a good time. PLUS! Last night we all went through a prayer time where we prayed at different stations and then moved around the room and stuff and then we talked about our visions for FCA and for next semester/year and it was fun.

Impotent Dates!
January 29th: Leadership Conference: Anyone (especially those who will be at Clemson next year are invited to come to the first ever FCA leadership conference brought to you by none other than your FCA leadership and I'm thinkin lunch will be provided FREE of charge! whoa.)

January 18th: This Tuesday I'm speaking at Winthrop, I'd love to have you come support. I'd equally love to have you PRAY like crazy for me. Thanks!!

Also. . . be looking out for info. about FutureCast. What is FutureCast you ask?? Well, that's why you're looking out for info :) Much love my wonderful friends!
